Liber Xenologis
Liber Xenologis is a dark comedy coffee table book written from an explorer’s point of view noting entries of the new alien species he finds. The overall idea is for this book to feel like a unique journal to match this flamboyant character's way of writing and seeing the world. Each entry is accompanied by a drawing or painting of the alien ‘drawn’ by the character and includes special hand written notes, as if the character has gone back to clarify certain texts or add more information.
For this project I illustrated the book cover and typeset the entirety of the 200 page book. The goal was to create a legible journal, keeping the format structured for easy ready whilst still being playful with the artwork and text placement. The cover has a foil and embossed treatment, styled to look like a galaxy map to match the refined view the character has for himself.

To accompany the Liber Xenologis book, I designed and illustrated a pin badge set in a presentation tin. This metal tin was made to look like a small memento box that the explorer would take on his travels, collecting artifacts along the way (pin badges).
The tin maintained the elements from the book cover, such as stars, compass and texture so that the products looked related to each other and continues the explorer’s refined tastes. The pin badges themselves are a soft enamel black nickel plate, based on iconography and illustrations I created using reference imagery from various Warhammer 40,000 factions.
